Natural Inquirer - Free Resource

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite FREE resources, Natural Inquirer (don't you just love the name). Their magazines and scientist cards are an amazing resource for any family, school or outdoor education program. The Natural Inquirer program produces a variety of science education materials for PreK through grade 12. Natural Inquirer products are produced by the USDA Forest Service, the Cradle of Forestry in America Interpretive Association (CFAIA), and other cooperators and partners.

Inside each issue you will find science related information, glossaries, activities and more. There are also additional resources online for children and teachers that go along with each journal.
In addition to the magazines they also have Scientist and Engineer cards, NSI: Nature Science Investigator booklet and Bee” A Scientist coloring books. I have ordered these not only for my kids, but also as handouts for my ECO classes.

There are over 50 magazines to choose from and you are guaranteed to find something that compliments your current science lessons. You can also choose to print them in a pdf,  but if your like me you already print so much so why not save some ink and paper.

This year in ECO we are using the scientist cards in each class to highlight the many science related careers that exist. Here are 2 worksheets I created so that the kids can keep track about which scientists they are learning about. One worksheet is geared towards K-3rd grade and the other is for 4+ grade.  Click on the image to download the worksheet. And order or download the Scientist and Engineer cards HERE.

You can order your Natural Inquirer issues HERE and find the additional activities and games to go along with issues click HERE. You can also sign up to be alerted about new publications.

Thanks for stopping by. Leave us a comment letting us know how you like the resource and worksheets.
